Getting online isn't one big project. It's a short list done in the right order, so each step makes the next one easier.
1. Lock in your name and domain
Check that your business name is free as a domain and on the social platforms you'll use. Register the domain in your own name, not someone else's.
2. Set up business email
An address on your own domain looks trustworthy and keeps working if you change providers. Set it up properly so your mail doesn't land in spam. (We do this for $49.)
3. Claim your Google Business Profile
If customers can visit you or you serve a local area, this is often the first thing people see when they search your name. Fill in every field: categories, hours, photos, services. (Our setup guide.)
4. Launch a simple website
Social profiles can disappear or change their rules; your website is the one place you control. Start small: what you do, who it's for, proof you're real, and how to contact you.
5. Create matching social profiles
Pick the two platforms your customers actually use. Same name, same logo, same link back to your site.
6. Start collecting emails
A sign-up form and a short welcome email turn one-time visitors into people you can reach again.
7. Then make content, steadily
Posts, short videos and helpful articles work best when they're consistent. Pick a pace you can keep.
